JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State's Head Women's Soccer Coach Julie Davis Carlson announced on Wednesday the 2009 schedule which features nine home matches for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks play an exhibition match at Middle Tennessee State on Sat., Aug. 16 before opening the 2009 regular season on Fri., Aug. 21 at Mercer University at 5 p.m.

JSU opens its home slate with a three-match home stand starting on Sun., Aug. 23 against North Georgia College and State University at 4 p.m. The Gamecocks welcome Mississippi Valley State on Sat., Aug. 29 and Alabama on Sun., Aug. 30, both starting at 7 p.m. The remaining non-conference home matches include Alabama A&M on Wed., Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. and Nicholls State on Sun., Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.

The Ohio Valley Conference home schedule opens on Fri., Sept. 25 against Murray State at 6 p.m. and UT Martin on Sun., Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Austin Peay visits on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. before wrapping up the regular season against Tennessee Tech on Sat., Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.

JSU's road schedule includes dates at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., on Fri., Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. and Southeastern Louisiana on Sun., Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. The Gamecocks travel Cullohwee, N.C., on Sept. 18-20 to play in a tournament hosted by Western Carolina. JSU plays host Western Carolina on Fri., at 6:30 p.m. and Elon on Sunday at 11 a.m. before traveling to Alabama State on Wed., Sept 23 at 7 p.m.

OVC road matches are at Morehead State on Fri., Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., Eastern Kentucky on Sun., Oct. 4 at 1 p.m., Southeast Missouri State on Fri., Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. and Eastern Illinois on Sun., Oct. 18 at 1 p.m.

The 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament is scheduled for Tue., Nov. 3 through Sat., Nov. 8 at home sites of higher seeds.
