JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's soccer team takes on Western Carolina University and Elon University this weekend in the Catamount Classic hosted by WCU in Cullowhee, N.C.  JSU plays Western Carolina on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (central) and Elon on Sunday at 11 a.m. (central). 
Jax State is on a three-match winning streak, entering the weekend 5-2-0. The Gamecocks defense has been solid, shutting out their last three opponents and has five shutouts this season.
Senior 
Amber DeLaney leads JSU with five goals followed by sophomores 
Chelsea Pelletier and 
Lindsay Boehmler and freshman 
Ariel Jones with three goals. 
Alex Rustad, 
Melanie Rigo, 
Myla Senff, 
Nathalee Lariviere, 
Nicole Vickery, and 
Millie Parekh have a goal apiece. 
Pelletier, who was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week last week, and Rustad are tied with three assists. Boehmler, 
Alyshia Madison and 
Eli Arthur each have two assists.
Freshman 
Ali Koenig took over as the starting goalkeeper when 
Christine Cunningham's season came to an end with a knee injury in the Alabama match. Since taking over, Koenig has notched three straight wins, all shutouts, 14 saves and has a .933 goals against average. 
Western Carolina is 2-3-1 coming off a 2-1 loss to regionally ranked Tennessee and a 0-0 tie versus No. 23 Dayton in its last two matches. 
Rachael Shomper has two of the Catamounts four goals followed by Nikki Lombardo and Katie Kole with one goal each. Lombardo and Kayla Beauduy are tied with one assist. Caitlin Williams has started all six games in goal, recording 29 saves. 
Elon plays UNC Asheville in the Friday's opening match. The Phoenix are 2-2-1 falling to NC State 2-0 in its last match on Sept. 12. Molly Calpin and Ceci Jensen lead the team with one goal apiece while Jensen has the team's lone assist. Sydney Little has 17 saves and has started all five matches for EU.
