Jacksonville State will host UAB on Wednesday at Rudy Abbott Field as the two teams will finish a halted game at 4:30 p.m., and then play a nine-inning game.
The February 28th game was halted in the top of the sixth inning with UAB leading 6-5 after heavy rains made the field unplayable. After the conclusion of this game, the two teams will play a regular-scheduled game at 6:30 p.m.
Jacksonville State is coming off a nine-game road trip and will be looking to win its fourth straight game before opening up Ohio Valley Conference action this weekend. JSU defeated Northwestern 6-5 on Monday in the final game of the Russ Matt Central Florida games in Winter Haven, Fla.
The Gamecocks are expected to throw sophomore left-hander Casey Antley (0-1, 9.00 ERA), while UAB will counter with left-hander Davis Hayes (0-0, 6.48).
Jax State is led offensively by seniors Scott Underwood, who is batting .400, and Erik Underwood with a .320 average. Senior Ben Waldrip leads the team with six home runs and 16 RBI, while Sam Eberle is second on the team with three home runs.
The conclusion of the makeup game and the regular-scheduled game can be heard on the JSU Sports Network with Mike Parris, beginning at 4:15 p.m.
