SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for Holyoke Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate League in 2011…was named NECBL Player of the Week on August 2…batted .294 with nine doubles, six home runs and a 31 RBI…played for the Mankato Moondoogs in the Northwoods League for Mike Orchard in 2010…played for the Tennessee Tornado of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League with JSU teammate Jay Davis in 2009…was named to the SCBL All-Star team…played for the Chattanooga Blast for Tom Holloway in 2007 and 2008.

(2011) As a junior, played and started all 59 games, including 29 at catcher, 23 at third base, three in left field and four in center field…led the team with a .356 batting average and was ranked seventh in the OVC…led the OVC with 88 hits, just eight shy of the school record, and was ranked 35th nationally…led the OVC with 21 doubles…led team with 54 RBI, which ranked second in the OVC……ed the OVC with 135 total bases to rank 56th nationanlly…led the OVC with 26 multiple-hit games, includign 16 2-hit games, nine 3-hit games and one 4-hit game…was second in the OVC with 16 multiple-RBI games, including 13 2-RBI games, two 3-RBI games and one 5-RBI game…batted .451 vs left-handers…hit .375 with runners in scoring position and led team with a .407 batting average with two outs…led team with 23 two-out RBI…had a season-long 13 game hitting streak…opened the season on a nine-game hitting streak, including multiple hits in four of first five games…went 3-for-6 with a season-high five RBI at Middle Tennessee on 2/26 after he slugged two home runs, including a leadoff in the eighth inning and a grand slam in the ninth inning…went 3-for-3 against Harvard on 3/6…drove in three runs vs Southern Illinois, thanks to a 3-run homer on 3/12…was 3-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles vs Bucknell…was 4-for-4 with two walks vs UT Martin on 3/27…went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles at Tennessee Tech on 4/3…also had three hits vs Austin Peay (4/16) with two RBI…went 10-for-21 with eight runs scored and six RBI in the OVC Tournament to earn All-Tournament honors…was 3-for-5 vs UTM (5/25) and also went 3-for-4 vs Austin Peay (5/28) in the OVC Championship… ended the season on a 10-game hitting streak
(2010) As a sophomore, played in 55 games and started 54, including 52 at third base, two in left field and one as DH…batted .277 and led the team with 16 home runs…was second on the team with 60 RBI…also had 16 doubles and one triple, while also going 6-for-6 on stolen bases…was second on the team with 14 multiple-RBI games and also had 16 multiple-hit games with 13 2-hit games, two 3-hit games and one 5-hit game…was 5-for-5 with five RBI vs Southern Illinois on 2/27…drove in a season-high six runs with a pair of 3-run home runs at Samford on 3/16…also had two home runs vs Eastern Michigan on 3/13 and at Morehead State on 5/21…had an outstanding OVC Tournament, where he went 5-for-12 to help the Gamecocks claim the Championship…was 2-for-5 vs Tennessee Tech in the Championship game after hitting his first triple of the season and drove in a pair of runs on 5/30…his 16 home runs was the second most in a single-season under Jim Case and tied for the 13th most in school history.
(2009) As a true freshman, was named to the OVC All-Newcomer team after batting .305 with a team-high 11 home runs… was one of two Gamecock freshman to be named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America squad, joining Kyle Bluestein…played in 48 games and earned 43 starts, including 40 at 3B, two in LF and one at DH…added seven doubles, one triple and 45 RBI…had 16 multiple-high games and 12 multiple-RBI games…made his first collegiate start at Appalachian State on 2/20 and recorded his first career hit vs UAB on 2/24…had his first multiple-hit game, going 3-for-5 vs Alabama State 3/11…slugged his first home run vs Miami (Ohio) on 3/13, a solo shot to lead off the seventh inning…in his OVC debut, went 1-for-1 with a three-run home run at Murray State in the eighth inning…was named the College Baseball Foundation National All-Star and OVC Player of the Week on April 20 after slugging five home runs and driving in 14 runs with a .550 batting aveage and six extra-base hits…he tied a school record by belting three runs in a single-game versus Kennesaw State (4/14), going 3-for-4 with six RBI and scoring four runs, after slapping three two-run homers…helped the Gamecocks earn a 16-8 road win over No. 6 Georgia as JSU plated nine runs in the top of the ninth inning, and Eberle gave JSU the lead for good on a RBI HBP with bases loaded on 4/29…was named to the OVC All-Tournament squad after batting 8-for-17 with eight RBI and scoring six runs with a pair of home runs…finished the season on a career-best six-game hitting streak.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Brian Hitchcox at Notre Dame High School…was a three-time All-State selection…batted .480 with 12 home runs, 11 doubles and 54 RBI as a senior…finished his career with a .442 batting average and 35 home runs…was named to the Chattanooga Times Free-Press Best of Preps his sophomore, junior and senior years…was selected for the Tennessee All-Star team…was a three-time All-District and All-Region selection…was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tennessee-Georgia Futures Game his junior season…also lettered in football and basketball, where he was named team MVP for both squads…was a two-time first-team All-State selection his junior and senior years in football and was a first-team All-District selection in basketball his senior year…played in the Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Basketball game his senior year.
PERSONAL: Full name is Samuel Christopher Eberle…son of Rick and Libby Eberle…born on February 1, 1990…has one older brother, Richard…his father, Rick, played golf at UTC, while his grandfather played basketball at the University of Virginia, and his uncle played baseball at the University of Alabama…lists the Atlanta Braves as his favorite Major League team and Josh Hamilton is his favorite player…major is business at JSU.
