With the threat of rain on Saturday, Jacksonville State and Morehead State will play a double-header baseball game on Friday, beginning at 1 p.m. at Rudy Abbott Field. The second game will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
Saturday's promotion of Youth Sports Day has now been cancelled. Youth teams are invited and encouraged to attend Friday's baseball double-header. It marks the fourth straight weekend the Gamecocks have altered their Ohio Valley Conference baseball schedule due to weather.
Junior right-hander Taylor Shields (7-2, 3.79 ERA) will pitch for the Gamecocks in Friday's opening game, while left-hander Tony Urban (3-2, 4.72 ERA) will pitch in the second game on Friday. Both games will be nine-inning games.
Jacksonville State will honor its five seniors prior to Friday's second game, including Zach Elbirt , Robby Lilly, Adam Miller, Ben Haynes and Cody Ponder.
