Travis Stout tied the JSU school single-season saves record after picking up his 15th save of the season on May 5 in a 2-0 shutout over Belmont. Stout tied
Todd Hornsby record of 15 saves, which he set as a junior in 2011. Stout is currently ranked No. 2 nationally in saves.
TRAVIS STOUT NAMED TO STOPPER OF THE YEAR AWARD WATCH LIST - ONE OF FOUR OVC PLAYERS

Travis Stout has been added to the mid-season watch list for the ninth annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Award. The award is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball. Stout, from Smyrna, Ga., currently ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 12 saves and is third in all of Division I baseball. He has made 22 appearances, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.99 earned run average with 19 strikeouts to just six walks. Stout has pitched 22 2/3 innings and is holding the opponents to just a .215 batting average. He has allowed just two extra base hits and is closing in on the Jacksonville State single-season saves record of 15, set by
Todd Hornsby in 2011. He is one of four OVC baseball players among the 51 players nationally on the list, joining Austin Peay's Tyer Rogers, Belmont's Josh Davis and Tech's Seth Lucio.
ROBBY LILLY NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT

Robby Lilly was named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Lilly, a native of Hoover, graduated summa cum laude with Special Honors in Accounting with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was among the 707 graduates from the University in April. Lilly also became the first male student-athlete to receive the prestigeous Dr. Clarence William Daugette Award, which is awarded to the male graduate with the highest grade point average. The Dr. Clarence William Daugette Award was established in the namesake of a male member of this prominent family who served as the University's President from 1899 to 1942.
MICHAEL BISHOP NAMED OVC PLAYER OF WEEK
Junior
Michael Bishop was named the Ohio Valley Conference co-Player of the Week on March 25. Bishop raised his batting average over 50 points during the week after batting .481 with four extra base hits to extend hits hitting streak to a season-best eight games. The junior outfielder has six games with multiple hits over his last seven games, including two games with two hits, one with three hits and a five-hit game. The Pelham, Ala., native was 3-for-5 and scored three runs in JSU's 6-5 loss at Alabama last Wednesday, and then had his best game of the season after getting five hits in JSU's 19-9 win over Austin Peay in the series finale. He had three doubles and two-RBI, while scoring a pair of runs in the win. He posted a .630 slugging percentage and an .481 on-base percentage during the week.
JAX STATE PRESEASON PICKED SECOND IN OVC
Jacksonville State's was picked to finish third in the 2012 OVC preseason poll. Austin Peay is picked the win the league after picking up 14 first-place votes and 193 points, just ahead of OVC newcomer Belmont's total of 182 points. The Gamecocks received 156 points for third, followed by Eastern Kentucky (139), Eastern Illinois (133), Tennessee Tech (107), SIUE (91), Southeast Missouri (73), Morehead State (70), Murray State (45) and UT Martin (21). Jacksonville State has advanced to the championship round of the OVC Tournament seven of the nine years competing in the league.
