(2013): Named to the Louisville Slugger Pre-Season Third Team All-American team by Collegiate Baseball...also named First Team All-OVC and was a Louisivlle Slugger Third Team All-American selection in 2013...appeared and started in 50 games as a junior…finished the season batting .340 with 70 hits and 26 RBI…led the team with 21 doubles, four triples, four homes runs, 17 stolen bases, and a .539 slugging percetage…had 24 multi-hit games, including a five hit game against Austin Peay on March 23…was 5-for-7 with two doubles, and three RBI against Austin Peay…batted .365 in conference play with 42 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, two home runs and 15 RBI…also drove in three runs after going 3-for-4 with two doubles against Eastern Kentucky on May 12…went 4-for-5 against Eastern Kentucky (5/11) with two doubles and three RBI…hit his first home run of the season against UT Martin on March 9…stole two bases against Kennesaw State (2/15), Murray State (4/12) and Morehead State (5/16).

(2012) Appeared in 51 games, making 44 starts in centerfield as a sophomore…finished the season batting .208 with 33 hits, four doubles, three triples, three home runs and 17 RBI…finished second on the team with seven stolen bases (out of nine attempts)…had nine multi-hit games, including seven 2-hit and two 3-hit games…vs OVC opponents, recorded four multi-hit games, including three 2-RBI and one 3-RBI game…was 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI against Tennessee Tech (4/7)…went 3-4 with one home run and three RBI at UT Martin (4/15)…hit his first home run of the season with a walkoff two-run home run against North Florida (2/26)…was 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI at UAB (2/29)…stole two bases against Austin Peay in the OVC Tournament and also against Murray State (4/22).

(2011) Was named the to OVC All-Freshman team after playing in 54 games with 43 starts (41 CF, 2 RF) as a true freshman…finished the season batting .280, with 44 hits, six doubles, one triple, one home run and 23 RBI…was second on the team with nine stolen bases (out of 10 attempts)…had 14 multiple-hit games, including 11 2-hit and three 3-hit games…made his JSU debut at Auburn on 2/22 and finished 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI…drove in a pair of runs in JSU’s home opener vs Kennesaw State on 2/23 and recorded his first stolen base…was 3-for-4 with three runs scored at Middle Tennessee on 2/27…had a pair of hits vs Indiana on 3/15 and also two hits vs Northwestern on 3/18…was 3-for-3 to help JSU to a 7-6 win over Auburn at Rudy Abbott Field on 3/22…was 2-for-4 with three RBI at Murray State in the first game, then added two more hits in the second game vs the ‘Breds on 4/9…was 3-for-4 vs UAB on 5/10 with a double…hit his first career home run on 5/15 vs Eastern Kentucky…had five 2-hit games in the final seven of the season…went 7-19 in the OVC Tournament.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Pelham High School for Jeff Mauldin…was named All-American by Collegiate Baseball as a senior after batting .435 with 11 homeruns, scoring 69 runs and recording 44 stolen bases…was also a first-team All-State selection…was named team’s Offensive Player of the Year for three straight years…finished this three-year career with a .429 batting average, 22 home runs, 92 RBI and had 70 stolen bases…was selected to play in both the North-South All-Star game and the East-West All-Star game…was named the Birmingham co-Player of the Year, along with his twin brother, Andrew…helped the Panthers post a 39-6 record his senior year.

PERSONAL: Full name is James Michael Bishop…son of James and the late Jane Bishop…born on May 20, 1992…has a twin brother, Andrew, who also plays baseball for the Gamecocks, and one older sister, Briana…lists Carl Crawford as his favorite Major League Baseball player…majoring in business management.
