Box Score RICHMOND, Ky. – A pair of second half goals keyed Jacksonville State in a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference soccer action at the EKU Soccer Field.
The win snapped a three-match losing streak for the Gamecocks (6-7) and evened their conference mark at 2-2. The Colonels fell to 1-2-1 in OVC play and 3-9-1 overall. JSU won in Richmond, Ky. for the first time since 2005 and the first win over EKU since 2006.
The deciding factor came down to a penalty kick in the 69
th minute as redshirt junior
Courtney Hurt connected on the eventual game winner. The game winner was Hurt's eighth of the season, which leads the Gamecocks this season.

Jackie Rush in the 62
nd minute after the Colonels' keeper came out of the net for Rush's ball. Bright and Rush combined for six of JSU's 13 total shots in the contest. The Gamecocks posted seven first-half shots and followed that half with six in the second period. The Gamecocks withstood an EKU rally after taking the lead as they attempted seven shots.

Caroline Robinson returned to action in the net in the second half and recorded a pair of saves. The JSU defensive backline kept the Colonels at-bay throughout the contest.
EKU's early goal was scored by Cassie Smith, who took a ball from a cross from Logan Harvey.
The Gamecocks will be idle next Friday night and will return to action next Sunday as the Panthers of Eastern Illinois will be in town for a 1 p.m. contest at the JSU Soccer Field. Admission is free to all JSU Soccer matches.
