JACKSONVILLE – After a successful Ohio Valley Conference road trip last weekend, the Jacksonville State soccer team returns to the JSU Soccer Field looking to maintain the momentum in conference play against Austin Peay and Murray State.

JSU will entertain the Lady Govs of Austin Peay on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by Sunday's afternoon tilt with OVC frontrunner Murray State at 1 p.m.  The APSU contest will be available on the OVC Digital Network.

The Gamecocks enter the OVC stretch run with a 2-1-1 conference mark after collecting a double overtime win at SIU Edwardsville last Friday night and carding a scoreless draw at Eastern Illinois on Sunday.  JSU stands third in the team standings, while APSU is on its heels at 2-1 in OVC play.  The Racers begin the weekend tied atop the OVC standings with Tennessee Tech at 3-0.
Friday's duel will break a 5-5-2 deadlock with the Lady Govs after Jax State claimed last season's meeting in Clarksville.  The Gamecocks will be looking to record back-to-back wins over APSU for the first time in the series history with the two sides.  JSU will also look to snap a six-game winless streak against the Racers on Sunday.  MSU has won five of the last six meetings as the two teams played to a scoreless draw in 2011.  JSU's last win against MSU was in 2007.

Jax State's defense was the storyline last weekend as it turned in a pair of road shutouts against league competition.  It marks the first time JSU posted back-to-back shutouts on the road in the OVC since 2005.  The Gamecocks blanked Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky to open the OVC slate that year.  JSU sophomore goalkeeper Caroline Robinson was the anchor of the defense last weekend and earned OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honors for her efforts at SIUE and EIU.  The Hendersonville, Tennessee stopper was also recognized by CollegeSpccer360.com, an online soccer publication dedicated to college soccer.  Robinson was named the web site's National Primetime Performer's List for the week.

The JSU soccer team and the Jacksonville Exchange Club have teamed up to support the prevention of child abuse with an auction through Facebook and continuing through the first half of Friday's match with Austin Peay.

The online auction is live and accepting bids online through 3 p.m. on Friday.  The items will be available to bid on at the JSU Soccer Field.  Jax State's match with the Lady Govs is set for 7 p.m.
Highlighting the items in the auction is a JSU football helmet signed by head coach John Grass.  The auction also includes JSU clothing items donated by other athletic teams, golf equipment, Gamecock memorabilia and gift cards to local businesses and restaurants.

Prior to Sunday's contest, JSU will honor its eight seniors that have contributed to the progress of the program in recent years.  The festivities will get started at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday.
