Box Score NASHVILLE – The Jacksonville State soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Lipscomb on Sunday at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville.
The loss drops the Gamecocks to 1-3 on the season and dropped both contests on the first road trip of the 2015 season. The Lady Bisons improved to 2-0-2 on the season.
LU took control of the match early with two goals in the first 19 minutes of the match. LU's Alex Hickey recorded her first goal of the season nine minutes deep into the match to give the Lady Bisons the early advantage. For the second consecutive match, the opposition came out with an offensive push as LU had nine scoring chances in the first 45 minutes, while Jax State was held to four shots in the first half.
The Lady Bisons increased the lead in the 18
th minute as Maycie McKay netted her second goal of the year.
The Gamecocks looked to follow a recent trend of coming out in the second half and attacking the goal, but LU limited the chances in the final 45 minutes with four JSU shot attempts in the half. Senior
Courtney Hurt led JSU with two shot attempts with both coming on goal. Junior

Madison Carruthers had the other two shot on goal attempts. LU kept the pressure on the Jax State in the second half with 10 of the final 19 shots coming in the second half.
LU added its final goal of the day with just 10 minutes left in the match as Natalie DuBoise finished out a solid day with a goal. She earned an assist on the Lady Bisons' first goal of the day.
After the first road trip of the season, JSU will return home next Friday night against Georgia State. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the JSU Soccer Field.
