The freshman duo of
Guillermo Agost and
Pablo Caffarena picked up singles wins at the No. 2 and No. 5 slots, respectively, but it was not enough to pull the Gamecocks ahead.
Felix Morck forced his match to three sets before falling, and
Andres Gomez sent his contest to a third set before it was called.
