JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team topped Eastern Illinois 6-1 Friday at the JSU Tennis Courts, earning its first OVC win of the season.
Â
The Gamecocks took the doubles point and claimed five singles matches en route to the conference-opening victory. A closely-fought match between EIU's Marko Janjusic and JSU's
Pablo Caffarena would prove to be the only point the Panthers would clinch.
Â
"It was a great win," head coach
Andres Amores said. "Conferene games are always tough, and it's nice to get a win in the conference-opener to set the tone for league play."
