JACKSONVILLE – For the second consecutive weekend, the Jacksonville State soccer team will be on the road in Ohio Valley Conference action, beginning the weekend at Eastern Illinois on Friday and wrapping up the trip with a stop at Belmont on Sunday.

Friday's match with the Panthers at EIU's Lakeside Field will get started at 3 p.m.  The Gamecocks and Bruins will square off at 2 p.m. on the turf at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee.  Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+, the online streaming platform of ESPN.

EIU and Jax State will be looking to get in the win column in conference play as both have dropped three league outings in the first two weekends of play.  The Panthers (1-7-1) played UT Martin to a scoreless draw in their first OVC match of the season.  The Gamecocks, 3-8 overall, are coming off a Sunday setback at SIU Edwardsville.  The Bruins picked up their first OVC win over EIU last Sunday and will host Tennessee Tech on Friday night.

Last season, EIU and JSU played to a scoreless draw at the JSU Soccer Field.  In the Gamecocks last trip to Charleston, Illinois, they picked up a 1-0 decision over the Panthers.  Jax State will be looking to grab its first win over Belmont since the 2015 season.

Through 11 matches, the Gamecocks are averaging over 10 shots per game and ranks fourth in the OVC in goals scored.  Freshman Cynthia Bagozzi and senior Emma Meadows lead the club with three goals each.  Bagozzi has turned in a team-best 25 shots this season, ranking her sixth in the OVC.  JSU has had nine different individuals post a goal this season as sophomore Reilly Kucko added her name to the list last Sunday against SIUE.

After the road trip this weekend, JSU will return to the JSU Soccer Field next weekend against Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech.  The Gamecocks will honor the senior class prior to the start of the match on Friday.
