MURRAY, Ky. – The Jacksonville State rifle team had three of the top-10 individuals against former Ohio Valley Conference rival UT Martin on Saturday afternoon on the Murray State campus.
Juniors
Lars Lilleng,
Kim Jettenberg and senior
Michael Dietz claimed the top three overall spots to lead the 20th-ranked Gamecocks to an aggregate score of 4660, which was 41 points better than the Skyhawks. JSU fired a 2350 in air rifle and added a 2310 in smallbore.
Lilling combined for the top overall score of the match with a final mark of 1171. He recorded a 593 in air rifle and followed that mark with a 578 in smallbore. Jettenberg placed two points back of Lilleng with a combined tally of 1169. Jettenberg was the top finisher in smallbore with a 585. Dietz claimed the bronze spot on the overall top individuals list. He registered a 591 in air rifle and a 575 in smallbore.
Sophomore
Angus Babcock rounded out the top-five overall individuals with a final score of 1158. Babcock bolstered the JSU air rifle mark with a 581 and finished the day with a 577 in smallbore. Freshman
Annie Iannotti posted a top-10 finish with a score of 1153. Newcomer
Sam Burrow was a top-10 finisher with a final tally of 1151.
Junior
Kaila Jones shot the best air rifle score with a total of 594.
After back-to-back weekends on the road, the Gamecocks will return to action in two weeks for their first home outing of the season on November 5 against Memphis.
