JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State rifle team made one final impression to the NCAA Rifle Selection Committee with a solid output in the NCAA Qualifier match on Saturday at the Gamecock Rifle Range inside Rowe Hall on the Jax State campus.
The Gamecocks fired a final tally of 4685 after turning in a 2365 in air rifle and a 2320 in smallbore. The Blazers accumulated a 4582.
Sophomore
Frans Rasmusson might have solidified an individual selection to the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships by capping off the season with an aggregate of 1176 to claim medalist honors. Rasmusson fired a 594 in air rifle and added a 582 in smallbore. His mark of 594 was the best in air rifle and the smallbore mark was second-best.
Freshman
Jenny Ek finished behind Rasmusson by three marks with a score of 1173. Ek recorded a 593 in air rifle and recorded a 580 in smallbore . Senior
Sam Burrow matched Rasmusson in air rifle with a 594 and placed seventh in smallbore with a 578 for a total of 1172.
Seniors
Jersey Wilson and
Kim Jettenberg rounded out the top-five on the individual leaderboard. Wilson carded the top smallbore score with a 583. She added a 587 in air rifle to post a final mark of 1170. Jettenberg combined an air rifle mark of 584 and 578 in smallbore for an 1162. Senior
Clark McWhorter finished just outside the top-tive with a total of 1157.
