Rifle Quartet Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

JACKSONVILLE – Four members of the Jacksonville State rifle team were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Team, announced by the organization.

Junior Annie Iannotti claimed a spot on the women's team, while seniors Sam Burrow and Clark McWhorter and sophomore Frans Rasmusson were named to the men's squad.
 
Iannotti, from Jacksonville, Fla., averaged an 1155 aggregate score throughout the 2024-25 season, highlighted by a 581 average in air rifle. Her best outing of the season came in Murray, Kentucky in October with a total of 1166. She posted a season-best 592 in air rifle. Iannotti maintains a 3.93 grade point average toward a degree in emergency management at Jax State.
 
Burrow bolstered the Gamecock lineup through the season with the third-best overall average. The Williamson, Georgian native averaged an 1167 on the season. He averaged a 577 in smallbore and a 589 in air rifle. Burrow tallied a season-high 1178 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was four marks off a perfect score of 600 in air rifle after firing a 596. Burrow posted a 3.74 GPA during the year and majoring in computer information systems.
 
McWhorter, a four-year member of the Gamecock rifle team, capped off his career averaging an 1158 on the season. He helped guide the 2024-25 edition to one of its best air rifle marks with an average of 581. The Springville, Alabama native turned in a season-high 1169 at the Gamecock Invitational last November. His mark was aided by a 589 in the air rifle portion of the invite. He held a 3.91 GPA in criminal justice at Jax State.
 
Rasmusson, led the way for the Gamecocks and came up short of an individual bid to the 2025 NCAA Rifle Championships. The Ystad, Sweden product averaged an 1174 aggregate score after averaging a 593 in air rifle and a 581 in smallbore. Rasmusson fired a pair of scores of 1182 on two occasions during the season – once at the Gamecock Rifle Range and at Ole Miss. He nearly fired a perfect 600 in air rifle multiple times, highlighted by a 598 in January in Murray, Kentucky.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
