ALBERTVILLE – Wednesday's Inaugural Sand Mountain Showdown between Jacksonville State and Alabama has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather, Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater announced Wednesday morning.
Â
The game between the Gamecocks and fifth-ranked Crimson Tide was rescheduled for Wednesday after a severe weather threat on the original date of March 30. Officials had to cancel the game after more weather is possible Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Â
With no other mutual date available this spring, all parties will work to reschedule to a date in the fall. Fans that have tickets for the Sand Mountain Showdown may hold their ticket for the rescheduled date or may request a refund at the following link:Â https://www.etix.com/ticket/online/help2.jsp
Â
The Gamecocks will turn their attention to their first matchup against an ASUN West Division foe this weekend. JSU will host a three-game series against rival Eastern Kentucky at University Field, beginning with a 1 pm CT doubleheader on Saturday and wrapping up with a 1 pm CT single game on Sunday. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
