Jax State's Lonteen, Holl Earn 2023 All-Conference USA Honors

DALLAS, Texas – Jacksonville State's Laleh Lonteen and Anna Holl were honored by Conference USA on Tuesday as they were named to the 2023 CUSA All-Conference Soccer Team.

Lonteen earned a spot on the league's All-CUSA Second Team, while Holl was selected to the CUSA's All-Freshman Team in the program's first season in the conference.

"I'm excited for Laleh and Anna to have been recognized by our conference. Laleh (Lonteen) and Anna (Holl) have worked tremendously hard to help this team and couldn't be more deserving," said Jax State Head Coach Sean Fraser.

Lonteen, a junior from Prosper, Texas, turned in all-conference numbers with right goals on the season and five assists. Her goal total is the most by a Gamecock in a season since former Jax State all-conference performer Kelsey Bright collected 14 goals during the 2014 season. Lonteen finished the season ranked among the league leaders in goals (8), points (21) and assists (5). The forward shared the CUSA lead for total points and points per game. She tallied a pair of goals in league play against Western Kentucky in the final moments of that contest that ended in a draw. She posted a game-tying goal at Liberty late in the season.

The highlight of her junior campaign came early with fouls goals in Jax State's 13-0 win over South Carolina State. She was one of two Gamecocks to have a hat trick-plus one in the rout. She is just one of 10 players in NCAA Division I Soccer to have four goals in a single match.

Holl came to Jax State from Haag, Austria and made an immediate impact for the Gamecocks in the first season under Sean Fraser. Holl engineered the offense from her midfield spot in all 17 matches in 2023. The first-year player logged over 1,200 minutes on the pitch. Holl registered her first collegiate goal in Jax State's win over Mississippi Valley State in September.

"While they are both great players l, they are also great people and I'm excited to see these two individuals build on their individual success moving into next season," added Fraser.

Jax State wrapped up its first season under Sean Fraser with six wins and a pair of draws overall and narrowly missed postseason play in its first season in CUSA.
