Williams Named to the 2024 CUSA All-Conference Second Team

DALLAS, TX. – Kayla Williams has been named to the Conference USA's 2024 All-Conference Second Team after an impressive season with the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

The 5'9 outside hitter from Killeen, Tex., was the Gamecocks' go to option offensively throughout the year racking up 473 total kills. Not only were the 473 kills enough to lead the CUSA, that total etched Williams' name at number 10 in the nation in total kills in the 2024 season.

Williams' average of 4.11 kills per set also led the CUSA. That same number puts Williams at 44th in the country as well. On top of her offensive prowess hitting, Williams was one of the top servers in the league. She averaged 0.34 service aces per set, ranking her number 10 in the conference. She had 39 aces total in the 2024 season.

Defensively, the junior was solid all season. Williams averaged 1.54 digs per set, collected 177 total digs, and had 21 total blocks. Another accomplishment of hers is her 524.5 total points ranks her 12th in the entire NCAA in that stat category.

No Jax State player made an all-conference team last season, so Williams is the first Gamecock to make at least a league's second team since 2022 when Lena Kindermann was named to the ASUN All-Conference First Team, Katie Montgomery was named to the ASUN All-Conference Second Team, and Claire Ochs and Sophie Riemersma were named to the ASUN All-Conference Third Team.
