DALLAS, Tx. – Conference USA named Jax State's senior middle blocker
Sanni Rantanen as one of 11 student-athletes to make the 2025 CUSA Volleyball All-Academic Team on Friday.
Along with Rantanen, nine schools were represented on the team with FIU and Liberty both having two selections apiece. Delaware, Kennesaw State, Missouri State, LA Tech, Sam Houston, and Western Kentucky all had one honored.
Rantanen has a 3.90 GPA while working toward her degree in Finance. Rantanen has been impactful on the court this season for the Gamecocks helping them to a 14-14 record and 8-8 mark in CUSA play. She has helped Jax State qualify for the CUSA tournament that will be held in Miami, Fla., on Nov. 21-23.
Rantanen has played in 108 sets in 2025 tallying 175 kills on a .284 hit percentage. She has also proven to be one of CUSA's best servers with 41 aces on the season, ranking her fifth in the league. Rantanen has also tallied 62.0 total blocks, 16 digs, and 13 assists this year.
