ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Jax State women's basketball hits the road to face the Saint Louis Billikens Wednesday at 4 p.m. This is the Gamecocks' first road test following a three-game homestand that resulted in three-straight wins.

Last Time Out
Jax State dominated Point University 90-30 on Saturday, Dec. 13 inside Pete Mathews Coliseum. The Gamecocks had five players score double-figures against the Skyhawks with
Kyera Thornsbury leading the way scoring 18.
Adriana Jones added 17,
Makala Hobdy scored 15, and
Brooklyn McDaniel and
Eden Sample both poured in 14 points. The Gamecocks also impressed defensively, holding Point to 26.2% shooting from the field and 16.7% from three.
Thornsbury's Career High
Kyera Thornsbury set a new career-best with 18 points Saturday, Dec. 6, against Mercer in Jax State's home game against the Bears. Thornsbury also added a pair of assists and a rebound against Mercer. She shot 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-5 from three. She matched her career-best against Point on Dec. 13 when she scored 18 on 6-of-12 shooting and 4-of-7 from three.
JUCO Duo
In the win over Point, former Shelton State Junior College transfers stood out.
Makala Hobdy scored 15 points and tied for a team-best nine rebounds. Hobdy also led Jax State with six assists.
Adriana Jones scored the next most points against the Skyhawks with 17. Jones pulled down five boards and had a pair of steals.
Seniors Stepping Up
Seniors
Eden Sample and
Brooklyn McDaniel have stepped up in their final season with the Gamecocks. Sample and McDaniel both had 14 points in Dec. 13's win over Point. Sample is averaging 7.1 points this season, while McDaniel is averaging 7.0 points per game. Both of them also average over three rebounds per game.
Next Man Up
After dealing with injuries for the past few games, Jax State was down to seven players when they welcomed the Point Skyhawks into Pete Mathews Coliseum. Although the Gamecocks were shorthanded, five players scored double-figures in a dominant 60-point win over the Skyhawks on Dec. 13.
