JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — The Jax State soccer team will host two matches in three days, taking on the Alcorn State Braves on Friday night at 6 p.m. before hosting the Jackson State Tigers on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. Both matches will be hosted at the Jax State Soccer Complex.
Jax State comes into the weekend with a 2-2-2 record through six matches, returning to the .500 mark after a 2-0 victory over the Alabama A&M Bulldogs last Sunday. In that match, Amelia Jacobs scored in the fifth minute to take an early lead, then Lara Aitken, assisted by Amanda Will, would score the Gamecock's second goal on an empty net to double the lead and cement the eventual final at 2-0.

Alcorn State comes into the match with a 1-2-1 record on the year, but has not lost in its previous two matches. After earning the first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Nicholls on August 28, the Braves would battle to a draw with McNeese State on August 31, with the final score being 3-3.
Three different Lady Braves have multiple goals so far this season, with Grace Ambrose, Deryn Doamekpor, and Elive Iarissa Joso Iuma all compiling two goals each. Ambrose, Doamekpor, Iesha Rollins, and Annick Zouma all have compiled an assist on the season.
The Lady Braves have had three different goalkeepers play this season. Maria Heuman has played in more matches than the other time, compiling four saves while allowing six goals for a .400 save percentage.

Jackson State brings a 1-4-1 record into the match after fighting to a draw against Southern Miss last night. Prior to the Southern Miss match, the Tigers hosted North Dakota, who defeated the Tigers 5-0 on August 29.
Caylah Williams is the only Tiger to have scored this multiple goals this season, scoring both of her goals this season in a 2-1 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on August 24. Sarah Portis and Kaila Tablado both scored a goal against Southern Miss to represent the other two to score this season. Zaniyah Gonzague has assisted two shots for Jackson State so far this season to represent the team's only assists this season. The Tigers are allowing 2.67 goals per game and allowing 18.0 shots per game thus far.
One goalkeeper has all but 13 minutes of play time this season for the Tigers, Valentina Goodloe. She has faced 106 shots, allowing 15 goals but collecting 36 saves to build a .706 save percentage.
