Biography

JSU CAREER:
2015:
Appeared in 55 games for the Gamecocks and was in the starting lineup in 54 of them…has the highest batting average of a returning JSU player with .352 to go along with 13 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 36 RBI…her 97 total bases is the most by a returning Gamecock as well as her .588 slugging and .444 on base percentages…recorded 17 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games…selected as an All-OVC Second Team member…went 4-for-5 with six RBI, one home run and three runs scored against SEMO on May 6…hit .375 in four OVC Tournament games…hit .403 in 24 OVC regular season games…hit .390 against right-handed pitching…hit .588 with runners on third with less than two outs.

2014: Started all 55 games for the Gamecocks in right field as a sophomore…a First Team All-OVC pick after batting .313 with 11 doubles, three triples, nine home runs and 31 RBI…was also perfect in 47 chances in right field…against OVC opponents, hit .304…was JSU’s leadoff batter in every game and hit .424 leading off an inning and .321 with runners in scoring position…was second on the team with 18 multi-hit games…was named to the OVC Tournament All-Tournament Team after going on a tear over the three games, going 7-for-10 with three doubles, three home runs and five RBI…went 4-for-4 against Murray State in the second round of the OVC Tournament with three doubles and a home run.
 
2013: Played in 56 games while starting 55 games in the outfield as a true freshman in 2013…earned OVC All-Newcomer honors after posting a .305 average in conference play…finished the season with a .261 average on 36 hits….scored 22 runs and hit one homerun against Alabama A&M on March 8…drove in 10 runs on the year while hitting eight doubles…finished OVC play with 18 hits and three doubles…had seven multi hit games, including a career best three hits against UT Martin on April 7.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Billy Duncan at Pisgah High School in Pisgah, Ala…was a six year starter for the Eagles…was named North Regional Most Valuable Player in 2012 and team MVP in 2010 and 2012…was named all-state honorable mention in 2009 and first-team all-state in 2010, 2011 and 2012…was named to the Huntsville Times All-Metro Elite team every year from 2009-2012…helped the Eagles win state championships in 2008 and 2011…also helped the Eagles finish as state runner-up in 2012…in 2008 she was named to the all-state tournament team…finished her career with a .489 batting average (460-for-939) with 34 home runs and 237 RBI…is the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s all-time leader in career runs scored (364) and ranks second in all-time career hits (460) and walks (150), fourth in career doubles (87) and is sixth on the all-time single-season hits list with 104 in 2010…is also seventh in career RBI (237), eighth in career home runs (34) and 14th in career doubles (87)…played travel ball with the Huntsville Sparks form 2007-2011 and the Birmingham Vipers in 2012…named MVP of the 2010 Music City Hits Tournament…also lettered in basketball where she averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game.
 
PERSONAL: Born on March 3, 1994, in Harbor City, Calif…the daughter of Laz and Kathy Rooks Denes…has a younger sister, Juliana…is majoring in biology at JSU…is majoring in exercise science.
