JSU CAREER:
2018: Made 56 appearances her Junior year as a Gamecock...finished with a 23-11 record with a 2.47 ERA in 229.1 innings pitched...struck out 164 batters while giving up 145 walks…surrendered 81 earned runs and 172 hits...allowed 16 doubles, 4 triples and just 4 home runs…earned Second-Team All-OVC honors by becoming second overall in the conference for wins with 18 total and by posting a 9-1 record and a 1.76 ERA in league play.
2017: Made 10 pitching appearances in her second year as a Gamecock … finished with a 1-1 pitching record with a 2.95 ERA in 19.0 innings pitched … struck out 19 batters while walking only nine … surrendered eight earned runs, 20 hits and nine walks … did not allow a double or triple … threw a complete game in her first start of the season, a 10-1 win over Mississippi Valley State, where she set a new career-high in strikeouts with 10 and walked only three, scattering three hits and allowing one unearned one on 114 pitches.
2016: Appeared in 10 games for the Gamecocks and started seven as a true freshman…finished with a 1-4 record and an 11.20 ERA in only 25 innings pitched…struck out 18 batters while walking 26…tossed her first complete game when she allowed just one hit against Omaha at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports Complex on Feb. 19…recorded her first collegiate save two days later against Elon…set a career-high in strikeouts with eight against Omaha…recorded at least one strikeout in all but two appearances during the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years under Randy Stracner at Cordova High School in Cordova, Ala…a four-time first team all-state player…recorded 2,150 strikeouts over the course of her prep career as well as tossing 39 no-hitters and 30 perfect games…was named an all-county player in addition to Pitcher of the Year by Daily Mountain Eagle…also played volleyball for the Blue Devils.
PERSONAL: Full name is Bryanna Faith Sims…born on Aug. 24, 1996 in Jasper, Ala…the daughter of Evelyn and Bryan Sims…has a younger sister, Hope…majoring in Elementary Education at JSU
