JSU CAREER:
2017: Broke onto the scene by hitting .312 in 42 games with seven doubles, one triple, six home runs, 25 RBI and 61 total bases … did not commit a fielding error … earned All-OVC honors after leading the team with a .477 batting average in 15 OVC games … had five home runs, 20 RBI and 40 total bases against conference opponents … finished with 12 multi-hit games, including eight against OVC foes … had five hits, four RBI, two doubles, one home run in six at bats in a double-header against Belmont on April 8.

2016: Appeared in 39 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore while starting 26 of them…batted .211 with three doubles, one triple, five home runs and 15 RBI…hit .242 in 17 OVC games while also finishing with a .576 slugging percentage in those games…finished with a .970 field percentage while committing on six errors…recorded her lone multi-hit game of the season against SIUE for the OVC Tournament Championship…had three multi-RBI games, including two three-RBI games.

2015: Appeared in 14 games for the Gamecocks as a true freshman…hit .083 in 12 at bats with one RBI…tied for the team lead in pinch-hit appearances with 12…hit .143 in seven OVC games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Pike County High School under head coach Joey Satterfield…a first team all-state selection in her senior season after batting .604 with 12 home runs for the Pirates…those 12 homers broke the PCHS record for homers in a season…a four-time first team all-region player, led the Pirates to the Elite 8 of the state playoffs in each of her last four years…named All-State by the Georgia Dugout Club…also played varsity basketball for the Pirates and was a first team all-region performer as a sophomore.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Leila Marie Chambers…born on January 24, 1996, in Atlanta, Ga…the daughter of Clifton and Leslie Chambers…has one older sister, Chloe…plans to major in physical education at JSU.
