JAX STATE CAREER:
2024: Played in 12 of 14 games with two starts...Totaled 50 tackles with four for loss, 2.5 sacks, and two pass breakups...Started season opener at linebacker against Coastal Carolina and made five tackles...Had three assisted tackles with one for loss in double overtime game at Eastern Michigan...Made five stops in overtime win at LA Tech (11/9)...Racked up seven tackles with one for loss in Senior Day win over Sam Houston (11/23) which clinched Conference USA regular season title...Had season-best 12 tackles with three for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a pass breakup in StaffDNA Cure Bowl vs. Ohio (12/20). 

2023: Appeared in every game for the Gamecocks as a redshirt junior, earning the start at Bandit in the Coastal Carolina and the New Mexico State games … recorded 32 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks … also forced two fumbles and recovered one, while notching three quarterback hurries … at Middle Tennessee, had six tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery that went 26 yards for a touchdown.

2022: Played in 11 games in his first season as a Gamecock…finished with 10 tackles on the season, including six stops for a loss…collected a season-high six tackles against Kennesaw State…posted 1.5 tackles for a loss on two occasions against Davidson and KSU…credited with a sack versus Southeastern Louisiana. 

PRIOR TO JAX STATE:  Spent the 2019-21 seasons at the University of California in Berkley, Calif…redshirted for the Golden Bears in 2019 after appearing in two games as a reserve…was named Cal’s Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week during their preparation for the UCLA game…missed the 2020 season due to injury.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville, Texas, where he was rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals…was the No. 41 ranked OLB in his class by 247Sports and the No. 209 ranked player in his region by ESPN.

PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 27, 2000…the son of Curley and Toni Young.
