Biography

JAX STATE CAREER:
2023: 
The veteran on Jax State’s defensive front, a fifth-year senior that has played in every season and a total of 54 games before the school’s first bowl game … the Gamecocks’ top run stopper in the middle of the defensive line, anchoring the front of a defense that leads CUSA and ranks in the top 20 in FBS in run defense … efficient at his position on a deep defensive line that rotates snaps among several players … has 27 total tackles, including three for a loss and 1.5 sacks …also has two QB hurries and one pass breakup … has made 100 tackles in his Jax State career, along with 15 TFL’s and 6.5 sacks.

2022: Played in all 11 games on the defensive front…finished the season with 25 total tackles, including four stops for a loss…credited with a season-high six tackles against Southeastern Louisiana…turned in sacks in back-to-back weeks versus Nicholls and Kennesaw State…forced a fumble in the KSU contest and picked off a North Alabama pass in the game played at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama.

2021: Appeared in nine games for the Gamecocks on the defensive line…recorded a career-best 21 tackles, eight of which were unassisted…had two tackles in the backfield for a loss…assisted on a sack against North Alabama on Sept. 18…had a career-high seven tackles in the season finale at Eastern Kentucky. 

FALL 2020/SPRING 2021: Appeared in 12 of 13 games after starting the fall opener against Florida State...recorded nine tackles on the year with a solo stop coming against Eastern Illinois on April 3...also recorded a quarterback hurry in three straight contests during conference play. 

2019: Appeared in 10 games as a true freshman...first career start came against North Alabama on Sept. 21... recorded 18 tackles on the year, including nine solo, with his first coming in the home-opener against Chattanooga...six tackles came for losses of 18 yards...picked up 2.5 sacks with first coming against Eastern Washington...his career-high came against Tennessee State with four tackles, one solo for loss, and a forced fumble.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four years at Westbrook Christian for head coaches Tony Osborn, Shea Monroe and Brian Mintz in Rainbow City, Ala…racked up 70 tackles in 2018, including 23 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries…helped the Warriors to a 7-4 record and a spot in the AHSAA Class 2A State Playoffs…was named WCHS’s most valuable player as both a junior and a senior…received first team all-state, all-region and all-district honors in 2018…was first team all-region, first team all-district and second team all-state as a junior…a member of the TV24 Pigskin Roundup All-Star Team and O.D. All-America Team…also lettered in basketball, baseball and track.

PERSONAL: Was born Jan. 3, 2001 in Atlanta, Ga…son of Phil and Tonya Luttrell…has one sister, Morgan…grandfather, Jimmy Luttrell, played football for Auburn and Jacksonville State…majoring in exercise science and wellness at JSU.
