JAX STATE CAREER
2024: appeared in 42 games with 30 starts for the Gamecocks in 2024…batted .155 across 84 at bats with 13 hits…tallied four doubles and a home run during her junior campaign…finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI against Ball State on Feb. 16…Also had a multi-hit performance on Feb. 23 in a win over Southern Miss, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles.
2023: appeared in 31 games, including 21 starts for the Gamecocks primarily in right field…finished the season with nine hits, scored 10 runs… had a two hit performance on February 17 against SIU-Edwardsville and a two RBI performance on February 10 against Buffalo…finished the season with a 1.000 fielding percentage…a leader on and off the field, Buffington won Jax State’s “Make A Difference Award” at the athletics-wide Gamecock Choice Awards for the 2022-23 year.
2022: Started in 35 of her 43 appearances as a freshman with the Gamecocks...scored seven runs and had 20 hits in 82 at-bats for a .244 batting average…drove in 14 RBI and recorded two doubles and three home runs…her first career homer came against Alcorn State on March 4…held a .378 slugging percentage...drew 13 walks and posted an on-base percentage of .354...from the outfield, she recorded 24 put-outs and finished her first season with a .960 fielding percentage.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played for head coach Nick Owens at Fort Payne High School in Fort Payne, Ala…named the Wildcats’ team captain as a senior, while also earning the Defensive Anchor Award and the Triple Threat Award…a three-time all-area selection and a first-team all-state pick as a utility in 2021…led FPHS to the area title in 2018.
