“Today we were a team. We were a team that played with heart and determination,” said JSU Head Coach Julie Davis Carlson. “I am very proud of the competitive mentality this group showed. We looked at a few new players today. Freshman Daisy Allen really added an experienced element in our midfield. Junior Myla Senff and senior Martina Dessbesell gave us a bit more creativity from the bench. With six seconds left in regulation, Nathalee Lariviere sent a goal-scoring chance to Courtney Hurt that could have sealed the deal before overtime."

“A loss in overtime is a hard one to swallow with the golden goal rule,” mentioned Carlson. We had very good chances that we didn't capitalize on. “We have utilized 20 players in the first two matches to allow us to see what we have with a bigger squad. Our depth is the key to our success. We must be relentless to go to the goal from here on out.”
