JACKSONVILLE – With Ohio Valley Conference action looming, the Jacksonville State soccer team will travel to Charleston, South Carolina for its final non-conference weekend, facing Charleston Southern and The Citadel in the Nike Challenge.

The Gamecocks (2-4-1) and Buccaneers (3-3) will get underway at 3 p.m. CST at the CSU Soccer Field while Sunday's match up with the Bulldogs of The Citadel (3-2) is slated for a 12 p.m. CST start time.  Live stats and live video links are available at JSUGamecockSports.com

The weekend activity in South Carolina will serve as a tune up for the OVC slate that begins Sept. 24 in Cookeville, Tennessee against Tennessee Tech.  JSU enters the match after posting a 2-1 win over Jackson State at home last Friday and a no contest result on the road in Montgomery, Alabama last Sunday against Alabama State after lightning halted the match in the 67^th minute.  The match needed to reach the 70^th minute mark to be considered a completed match.  JSU and ASU were equal at 2-all when the match was deemed canceled.

The last time JSU made the trip to the Palmetto State to face the two clubs this weekend was during the 2013 campaign.  CSU topped the Gamecocks 4-2 and The Citadel recorded a 3-1 win over JSU.

Jax State's offense has been led by Nadia Plawiuk's two goals. Four other players have scored goals for the Gamecocks on the season. Emma Meadows is the team leader with two assists. Kayla Thompson is the shots leader with 15, while Carsen Taylor is the shots on goal leader with six. Caroline Robinson has been JSU's goalkeeper on the season with a 1.25 GAA and a .735 save percentage.
