LYNCHBURG, VA. – Jacksonville State men's tennis will face the Liberty Flames to open competition in the 2025 Conference USA Men's Tennis Championship. The match against the hosting Flames is set for 12 pm first-serve on Saturday.
The Gamecocks ended the season on a six-match winning streak to close the year with a 12-6 record. Liberty went 10-12 this season.
Jax State has been led this season by
David Krasner who holds a 12-3 mark in singles action.
Marko Milosavljevic is 10-4 this year,
Matei Palcau is 9-3,
Alin Fatu is 7-4,
Charlie Penman 7-6, and
Aman Dahiya is 4-3.
Timo De Visser is 6-7 and
Zach Murphy is 2-2. The Gamecocks are 57-32 as a team.
In doubles, the Gamecocks are led by the duo of Murphy and
Lucius Soller who are 12-3 this spring. De Visser and
Logan Haga are 7-3, Milosavljevic and Krasner are 6-5, and De Visser and Penman hold a 3-1 record together. Jax State is 28-16 in doubles this season.
Liberty is led in singles by Rodrigo Santiago Arraez who has a 15-10 mark on the year. Ernst Gouws is 11-9, Matija Samardzic is 10-6, Carl Roothman is 13-13, Chase Robinson is 12-13, and Siwanat Auytayakul is 10-4. The Flames are 81-85 overall in singles.
In doubles play, Joaquim Almeida and Auytayakul are a team-best 14-6. Gouws and Roothman are 6-3, Gouws and Samardzic are 3-2, Robinson and Trey Stinchcomb are 6-6, and Auytayakul and Robinson are 2-2. As a team, Liberty has amassed a 38-40 record in doubles this year.
The winner between the Gamecocks and the Flames will move on to play in the semifinals of the tournament.
