DALLAS, Texas — Jax State's Amelia Jacobs and Raegan Whitaker were named Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday as voted on by members of the league.

AMELIA JACOBS
Amelia Jacobs had the best week of her collegiate career, where she scored four goals in two games, leading Jax State to a 2-0 week and a 6-2-2 record heading into conference play, as well as earn five-straight wins. On Friday against Alabama State, Jacobs has the first hat trick of her career and the first multi-goal game of her career, scoring the first two goals on the game in the first 17 minutes of action, then her third in the 53rd minute of play. On Sunday in a road match at Mercer, Jacobs represented the dagger score in the 71st minute to hand the Bears their first home loss of the season. Jacobs also assisted the game-winning goal in the 13th minute. Jacobs is now the leader on the team in goals (7) and points (15).

RAEGAN WHITAKER
Raegan Whitaker earns her second Conference USA honor in as many weeks, anchoring a defensive unit that did not allow a goal in last week's action. Against Mercer on Sunday, Whitaker added an assist to her tally on the season and played 87 minutes of strong defense. Whitaker and the Gamecocks did not let the Bears score on Sunday to hand them their first home loss of the season. Thanks to Whitaker's defense, the Gamecocks improved to 6-2-2 on the year and are winners of five-straight matches, the longest such streak since 2012.

The Gamecocks open Conference USA play this weekend with a match at Middle Tennessee. The match is slated to begin on Sunday at 1 p.m. from the Dean A. Hayes Track & Soccer Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
