Magrosky Records Clean Sheet in Victory Against Alabama State

JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State soccer team defeated Alabama State, 1-0, on Sunday evening for their second win of the season. Jax State improves to 2-4-2 on the season, while Alabama State falls to 0-7-1.
The first half saw Jax State control much of the action, out-shooting Alabama State 9-3. The Gamecocks broke through at the 27' mark when Emma Reeder found the back of the net off an assist from Amelia Jacobs. Jax State continued to pressure the Hornets throughout the remainder of the half, recording six corner kicks and taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
The second half saw Alabama State push to find an equalizer, but the Gamecocks' defense held strong. The Hornets recorded four shots in the second half, but only one was on target, which was saved by Jax State goalkeeper Camdyn Magrosky.
Jax State continued to create opportunities on the offensive end, finishing the match with 18 total shots, including five on goal. Rebecca Sierra-Burciaga led the Gamecocks with four shots, while Michelle Hochstadt and Nina Falgayrac each recorded three.
In her first start of the season, Magrosky played all 90 minutes in goal for the Gamecocks and recorded the first Gamecock clean sheet of 2026.
The Gamecocks will return to action Wednesday, September 16, when they travel to face Gardner-Webb at 1 p.m.
