Soccer Hits The Road, Faces Garnder-Webb on Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State soccer team will take on Gardner-Webb, Wednesday, at 1:00pm. The Gamecocks are 2-4-2 on the season and the Bulldogs are 3-4-1. Gardner-Webb leads the all-time series, 4-2-0, and this will be the seventh meeting between these teams.
The first match-up was in 2010, when Jax State hosted Gardner-Webb and fell 2-0. The Gamecocks' first win in the series came in 2014, in a 1-0 win, and a 2-1 win the following year. Gardner-Webb has won the last two match-ups, including a 2-1 victory in 2022.
The Gamecocks will rely on Emma Reeder to lead the attack. Reeder has five goals this season; three of those goals have come in the last three games, and all five have been in the last six. Sunny Ferren and Amelia Jacobs are both at the top of the team with three assists a piece.
Gardner-Webb's attack will look to Julia McBride, who has scored four goals this season. The Bulldogs are coming off a 2-0 loss to Georgia State on Sunday, while Jax State is fresh off a 1-0 win over Alabama State.
The game will be televised on ESPN+, on Wednesday, September 16, at 1:00 pm, at Greene-Harbison Stadium.
