2009: Started all 59 games in the JSU outfield as a junior…hit .357 with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 22 RBI to earn second-team All-OVC honors and OVC All-Newcomer honors…was 15-of-16 in stolen bases to lead the team and rank fifth in the OVC, while also boasting a .605 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage…committed just one error in 59 chances on the year while recording four outfield assists for a .983 fielding percentage…had 15 multi-hit games on the year, including three three-hit games…went 3-for-3 in JSU’s win over Nebraska on May 17 in the NCAA Knoxville Regional…tied the school record with two homers in a game twice, vs. Tennessee Tech on April 18 and vs. Ole Miss on April 23…stole two bases in a game twice.

PRIOR TO JSU: Played two seasons for coach Greg Shivers at Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City, Ala….an all-state and all-region performer in both seasons for the Trojans…hit .443 as a freshman and .472 as a sophomore, which ranked second in the state…a career.453 hitter at CACC, led the Trojans to a runner-up finish in the ACCC as a freshman...was a preseason All-America selection in 2008

HIGH SCHOOL: Played five seasons for coaches Greg Bates and Brad Logan at Childersburg High School…a career .430 hitter, was named the Tigers’ best offensive player in both her junior and senior seasons…was named to The Birmingham News’ Super Eight…played travel softball for the Alex City Titans, guiding them to the title at B Class Nationals in 2004 and a runner-up finish in the Canada Cup in 2006.

PERSONAL: Born on July 23, 1988, in Birmingham, Ala…the daughter of Randy and Leigh Downs…has two brothers, Randy and Austin, and one sister, Rachel Lett…an honor student and member of the Phi Theta Kappa and Beta Club honor societies in high school…majoring in marketing at JSU.
