2010: Started 48 of the Gamecocks’ 49 games as a sophomore, serving as the team’s primary shortstop…batted .200 with two home runs and 14 RBI on the year…drove in five RBI against Eastern Kentucky on April 18, thanks to a 2-for-4 showing and a walk-off grand slam that clinched a mercy-rule win for JSU…had three multi-hit games and two multi-RBI outings…hit her first home run against Western Kentucky on March 5 at the Georgia Tech Buzz Classic.
PRIOR TO JSU: As a true freshman at No. 4 Georgia, Appeared in 40 games making 15 starts and batted .262 with a home run, three RBI and seven runs scored to help the Bulldogs to the Women’s College World Series...hit .400 with a run scored in series vs. #15 Tennessee…started in left field and went 1-for-3 against Western Carolina…hit first-career home run in game two of series at Auburn…provided Georgia with a hit and an RBI in game two of the South Carolina series…scored two runs in Georgia Softball Classic…made first career start (right field) vs. Elon and went 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI…made Bulldog debut as a pinch runner vs. #20 Long Beach St.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Whitewater High School, where she was the first person to letter in four sports: softball, track and field, basketball & golf…also lettered academically…three-year softball team captain; three-time All-Region selection and All-State as a sophomore…after missing junior year with a knee injury returned to help WHS to Elite Eight showing in the Ga. High School Class 4A state playoffs as a senior…played travel softball for Georgia Elite, Georgia Blitz and Atlanta Vipers…member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Executive Board; graduated with honors.
PERSONAL: Born on October 10, 1989, in Atlanta…the daughter of Randy and Belinda Echols…majoring in broadcast at JSU.
