2010: Saw action In all 12 games for the Gamecocks as a junior, earning the start in the defensive backfield in four…had 36 tackles, 27 solo, out of the backfield, which was ninth on the team and was third among JSU DBs…recorded one sack and two tackles for a loss, while also notching a quarterback hurry...posted four stops against Ole Miss, including three solo tackles...registered a pass break up in the season opener...recorded four stops and broke up a pass against Chattanooga...recovered the fumble on the kick off after JSU took a 21-17 lead late in the 4th quarter against UTC...credited with a trio of tackles against Georgia State...totaled five solo stops against Eastern Illinois, including a tackle for loss...recorded a pass break up against EIU...assisted on a pair of tackles against Murray State...tallied five stops against UT Martin, including his first career sack...registered one stop against Tennessee State...finished the Austin Peay contest with a pair of solo stops...made a pair of stops against Tennessee Tech…in the playoffs against Wofford, had four solo tackles and one of his four pass break-ups on the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Ronnie Sikes at Lanett High School…was an honorable mention All-State selection as a senior after recording 453 yards on 45 catches and scoring 15 touchdowns…also had three punt returns for touchdowns…was a first-team All-Area selection for three years…was named the Opelika-Auburn News Offensive Player of the Year in 2007…set a school record by scoring five touchdowns in a game as a senior vs Wicksburg in the second round of the state playoffs…was named team co-Most Valuable Player as a senior…was named Who’s Who Among American High School Students and was an honor student.
PERSONAL: Full name is Jawaan Deante Booker…son of Lavaria Booker…born on January 29, 1990…has one older sister, Tisha, and two brothers, Tae and T.J…his cousin, Marcus Pollard is currently playing NFL with the Atlanta Falcons…majoring in technology at JSU.
