2024: Played in 13 games with five starts at tackle...Totaled 23 tackles with two for loss and a half of a sack...Forced a fumble in Homecoming win over Southern Miss (9/21)...Credited with season-best seven tackles, 1.5 for loss and half sack in double overtime game at Eastern Michigan (9/14)...Made four total tackles in win over NM State (10/9).
2023: Appeared in 11 games for the Gamecocks as a redshirt junior, serving as a reserve on the defensive line … recorded four tackles, including a season-high three against Liberty … in the Liberty game, also notched a sack.
Fall 2020/Spring 2021: Made seven appearances in his first season wearing a Gamecock uniform... recorded three tackles on the season including his first career stop coming unassisted against North Alabama on October 17.
PRIOR TO JSU: Sat out the 2019 season as a redshirt at Troy University in Troy, Ala.
HIGH SCHOOL: Recorded 90 tackles, 72 solo, with 18 tackles for loss and 13 sacks as a senior at T.R. Miller High School…also started on the offensive line…earned second team all-state honors as a sophomore at W.S. Neal High School…named a three-star recruit by 247Sports; one of the top 100 defensive tackles in the country and top 55 players in the state of Alabama…rated as a three-star recruit and top 60 player in the state by Rivals…three-star by ESPN and top 100 defensive tackle in the country.
PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 10, 1999…the son of Ricky and Karisky Samuel…has one brother – Christopher – and three sisters – Dinah, Karen and Brianna.
