JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State soccer team whupped Troy 4-3 for their first win of the season and second-straight win over Troy. The seven goals are the most all-time in this match-up. Jax State improves to 1-2-1, while Troy falls to 1-4-0.

The duo that found Jax State's loan goal against Samford, started the scoring off for the Gamecocks. Emma Reeder found the back of the net at the 5' mark, then Sunny Ferren adding another goal at the 10' mark. Evie Underhill then found another goal at the 18' mark to give the Gamecocks three first half goals.

Troy's Imani Hamilton and Mallorie Springs scored a goal each for the Trojans at the 16' mark and the 23' mark to wrap up the scoring in an action packed first half.

The second half kicked off with Troy's Alania Uncapher, scoring the equalizer at the 69' mark after a set-piece assist by Brooke Slater.

Amelia Jacobs had the game winner for the Gamecocks at the 84', off of Michelle Hochstadt's corner.

The Gamecocks' attack was brilliant, putting up 28 total shots and finding four goals. Jax State will look to build on this win heading into their next match-up against Southern Miss. Jax State will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to play the Golden Eagles at 4:00pm on Thursday night.
