Jax State Faces Missouri State in CUSA Soccer Action Thursday

JACKSONVILLE – The Jax State soccer team will travel to Springfield, Missouri, to play Missouri State. This will be the second match-up all-time between the two teams. The Bears took the first match-up a season ago, 1-0.
The Gamecocks are 3-6-2 on the season and 0-1-0 in conference play, and the Bears are 3-6-1, and 0-1-0 in conference play. Both teams look to gain their first points of the season in the conference standings.
Jax State's attack is led by Emma Reeder, who has six goals on the season, and Rebecca Sierra-Burciaga, who has 25 shots. The Gamecock's attack was the strength of team early but here recently the defense, led by Camdyn Magrosky, has shown a lot more structure.
Missouri State is the third best passing team in the conference, averaging 1.3 assists per game. The Bears have ten players with an assist on the season, and Ellie Neath leads the team with three.
In last year's match, the numbers were pretty equals for both teams, as Mo State took 11 shots to Jax State's nine, but both finished with four saves. The only difference in the match was a Bear goal in the 50' that allowed Mo State to prevail in Jacksonville.
The game will be televised on ESPN+, on Thursday, October 1st, at 4:30 pm, at the Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
