Biography

JSU CAREER: 2021:  Played in 39 games and made starts in 36 games mainly at first base…collected 12 extra base hits including a career high two triples…hit six home runs on the year including a go-ahead three run homer against Eastern Illinois (May 5)…had 24 runs batted in….made 134 plate appearances over the season.

2020: Played in eight games and started in the designated hitters spot primarily…missed the final seven games of the season with an injury…turned in a .367 batting average along with a slugging percentage of .533…posted 11 hots in 30 plate appearances and had at least one hit in seven of the eight games…registered a three-hit game in JSU’s 9-8 win over Missouri (Feb. 16) on the opening weekend of the season…went 3-for-4 with a double and drive in three runs…had multiple hits against Central Michigan (Feb. 22) and Gardner-Webb (Feb. 28).

2019: Saw action in games and started in 41 games…made 24 starts at first base and also plugged in as a designated hitter…finished the season hitting .250 with 37 total hits…ranked second on the club in home runs with 11 and had seven doubles…drove in 24 runs and scored 31 times…reached base via walk 21 times…a plus-.500 slugging percentage…delivered a pair of walk-off hits with a game-winning single versus nationally-ranked Georgia on May 8, followed by a walk off home run against Belmont in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament…produced the game-tying home run versus UGA in the ninth for JSU…turned in seven multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games, including a three RBI outing in the UGA contest…earned a spot on the All-OVC Tournament Team.

2018: Played in 34 games after missing the beginning of the season recovering from an injury as a senior in high school…finished with a .237 batting average after posting 23 hits, including six extra base hits…drove in 22 runs and scored 12 times…made his JSU debut against Kennesaw State on March 6 and tallied his first career hit in the outing…posted an RBI in his first Ohio Valley Conference action at Eastern Illinois on March 18…delivered a pinch hit two-run home run in the ninth to send the Jacksonville contest on March 23 in to extra innings…connected on his second of four home runs on the season at Alabama State on April 17…turned in a 3-for-5 performance at Alabama on May 8...drove in three runs and had a double against the Crimson Tide…carded a pair of RBI with a two-run home run in the opening game of the 2018 OVC Baseball Tournament against Austin Peay on May 23.

High School: Attended Sparkman High School in Harvest, Ala…played for Kellen Greer at SHS…finished his junior season with 36 hits and hit over .300…drove in 36 runs and scored 28 runs for the Senators in 2016…turned in 16 extra base hits with nine doubles and seven home runs…also walked 20 times…helped SHS reach the semifinals of the Class 7A state playoffs after falling to eventual champion, Hewitt-Trussville…was selected twice for the USA National Team trials in Cary, North Carolina…ranked among the top players out of the state of Alabama by Perfect Game, including being listed as the third-best in the state at his position at third base…a 2017 Perfect Game Southeast Region Honorable Mention selection…named a two-time Perfect Game Underclass Honorable Mention in 2015 and 2016...had recruiting interest from Alabama, LSU, Georgia State and Alabama-Huntsville.

Personal: Born on July 30, 1998 in Huntsville, Alabama…the son of Joey and Debbie Strachan...majoring in computer information systems at JSU…has two younger brothers, Cole and Ryan…cousin Paul LeClair played in the New York Mets organization and a graduate of the University of West Alabama.
