JSU CAREER: 
(2014): JSU’s top-returning starting pitcher after a earning a spot in the weekend rotation in his first season as a Gamecock…posted an overall record of 7-8 with five wins coming against Ohio Valley Conference opponents…finished the season with 88.2 innings of work with an earned run average of 4.06…accumulated a team-best 60 strikeouts and allowed just 38 earned runs…tossed a season-high 7.2 innings in the OVC Championship contest against Tennessee Tech (5/25)…after opening the tournament four days earlier with 5.2 innings of work vs. Eastern Illinois, he allowed two runs on five Tech hits and fanned six…the entire JSU pitching staff was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Players after allowing just 15 runs over 63.0 innings to post a 2,14 earned run average, while posting a 6-1 record with four saves…limited Kennesaw State (3/1) to one hit in seven innings of work and striking out seven in the outing…recorded a season-high eight strikeouts in his OVC debut against UT Martin (3/8).
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played at Jones County Junior College under head coach Christian Ostrander from 2011-12…also played at Alabama Southern Community College under head coach Daniel Head from 2012-13…was named all-conference in 2013.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Spanish Fort High School under head coach Tommy Walker…helped the Toros in state championships in 2010 and 2011…named MVP of the 2011 state championship game…named first-team all-region, all-state and all-district in 2011....also lettered in football…was a part of a football state championship in 2010…was named first-team all-state as a punter in 2011.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is Zachary Fowler…son of David and Kelley Fowler…born on May 20, 1993…has one older brother, Craig, and one older sister, Amanda…lists the Atlanta Braves as his favorite Major League Baseball team and Chipper Jones as his favorite player…plans to major in Physical Education at JSU.
