SUMMER BASEBALL: Played in the California Collegiate League for the Sanata Maria Packers and was coached by Scott Nickason in 2010.
JSU CAREER:
(2013) Appeared in 35 games, making 29 starts at catcher and three as the designated hitter…hit .183 with five doubles,12 RBI and 10 runs scored…drew 14 walks on the year…had five multiple-hit games, including one 4-hit game against Austin Peay (3/23)…made 15 starts at catcher during OVC play…hit .269 with 14 hits , three doubles, seven RBI and six runs scored…drove in a three runs after going 4-for-6 against Austin Peay (3/23) with one double and two runs scored.
(2012) Appeared in 48 games, making 36 starts at catcher…hit.271 with 14 doubles, two triples, one home run, 19 runs scored and 23 RBI…drew 20 walks on the year…finished tied for second on the team with 14 doubles…had nine multiple-hit games, including one 3-hit game…had a seven-game hit streak on the year…had six multiple-RBI games…finished with nine 2-hit games…had a season-high three hits against Austin Peay (5/25) in the OVC Tournament…hit two doubles in the OVC Tournament against Eastern Kentucky (5/25)…was 2-for-3 with one homerun and two RBI against Morehead State (3/30)…was 2-for-3 with an RBI against Northwestern (3/19).
(2011) Was granted a medical redshirt after seeing action in just two games after suffering an injury in the season-opener at Auburn (2/22)…finished season1-for-3.
(2010) Played in 16 games with 11 starts at catcher or designated hitter as a true freshman...hit .333 with a double, three home runs, nine runs scored and eight RBI...made his collegiate debut at Texas Tech (2/19), where he went 2-for-4…recorded a season-high three hits in three games against Southern Illinois (2/27), at Kennesaw State (4/13), and at Morehead State (5/21)...went 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI and two runs scored against Morehead State (5/21)...went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI at Kennesaw State (4/13)...had four multi-hit games and two multi-RBI games.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Kevin Sharp and Steve Frye at Pendleton High School…batted .415 as a senior to help the team to a 29-1 record…won the West Minister Classic and the Budroth Classic, while winning the Seminole Batting Tournament in back-to-back years…team finished the season ranked seventh nationally.
PERSONAL: Full name is Cal Joseph Lambert…son of Joseph and Debra Lambert…has two older sisters, Brittany and Carly…his father, Joseph, played tennis at the University of Arkansas…lists the Tampa Bay Rays as his favorite Major League Team and Josh Hamilton is his favorite player…majoring in Physical Education at JSU.
