OUTLOOK: Entering her senior year hoping to continue her trend of improving every season…is more mature and her pitches continue to get better…a competitor that will be relied upon heavily in the circle for JSU this season.

2008: Appeared in the circle for the Gamecocks, earning the start 29 times…led the OVC and was 34th nationally in victories with a 23-9 record that included a 14-2 mark in league play…capped the season with a 3.03 ERA to earn second team All-OVC honors…tied for third in the OVC with two saves…tossed 13 complete games and two shutouts...struck out 108 batters in 180.1 innings in the circle, while allowing opponents to hit just .262 against her…fanned a season-high seven batters in her first appearance of the year in six innings against Purdue on Feb. 8…also struck out seven in an extra innings win over Troy on Feb. 29…in a win over Eastern Illinois on April 19, allowed just one hit in seven innings of work…posted a 2.75 ERA in OVC play, including eight complete games and a pair of shutouts…committed just one error in 66 chances in the field…earned OVC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 31, after going 4-0 and allowing just one run in 18.0 innings of work.

2007: Appeared in 30 games in the circle as a sophomore for the Gamecocks, earning the starting nod 21 times…tossed 138.1 innings and posted a 13-10 record and a 2.68 earned run average…in her 21 starts, went the distance in 12 of them, recording four shutouts…struck out 106 batters and walked just 49, while holding opponents to a .247 average…fanned a season-high 10 batters in a complete game shutout at Tennessee State on April 14, when she allowed just four hits and walked just one…struck out eight the next day against TSU in another four-hit shutout…recorded her first collegiate win in her debut on Feb. 11, when she tossed a six-inning, three-hit shutout against Alabama State…picked up her only save of the year on March 24 at Eastern Kentucky, striking out two in one inning of work.

PRIOR TO JSU: Played one season for head coach Jeff Roberts at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Fla…was a second-team all-district selection in her freshman season, when she led the Lancers to a 50-10 record…was a second team All-Suncoast Conference selection as a freshman at MCC…played four seasons of high school softball for head coaches Don French and Mick Koczersut at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Fla…was the Mustangs’ team MVP in each her freshman, sophomore, junior and senior seasons…a first team all-state honoree as a senior after earning second team honors as a sophomore and honorable mention honors as a freshman and junior…was second team all-district as a freshman before earning a first team nod in her ophomore, junior and senior seasons…named to the FACA All-Star team as a senior…was the Bradenton Herald Player of the Year in her junior and senior seasons…led LRHS to a 23-1 record in her senior seasons…was named the Manatee Invitational MVP in each her junior and senior seasons…also lettered in volleyball.

PERSONAL: Born on Sept. 3, 1986, in Plantation, Fla…the daughter of Joe and Rae Dowling…has two brothers, Ben and Joseph…graduated from Lakewood Ranch with a 3.4 GPA…was a member of the Quill and Scroll Honor Society…plans to major in communication at JSU.
