JSU CAREER:
2015: Started all 15 games for the Gamecocks as a redshirt junior and established himself as the most proflic receiver in school history…earned First Team All-OVC honors after leading Jacksonville State with 92 receptions for 1,145 yards and 11 touchdowns…his 92 catches and 11 touchdowns are both single-season school records…he’s Jacksonville State’s all-time receptions leader with 206…named OVC and FCS National Player of the Week after making 14 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown against Auburn…finished the season by extending his school-record streak of consecutive games with a catch to 40…recorded five or more catches in 11 of the 15 games he played in…hauled in a season-high three touchdowns against UT Martin…recorded four multi-touchdown games, which gave him the school-record for most career multi-touchdown games with five…he’s fifth all-time in school history with 17 career touchdown receptions…led the Gamecocks with 22 punt returns and returned one kickoff…finished second on the team with 1,362 all-purpose yards.

2014: Started all 12 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore and was one of the top wideouts in the Ohio Valley Conference…earned Second Team All-OVC honors after leading JSU with 56 catches for 919 yards and four touchdowns…was second in the OVC and 36th in the nation with 76.6 receiving yards per game, while his 919 yards were also second in the OVC and were 35th nationally…was also JSU’s main punt returner, taking 13 returns 82 yards…his 919 receiving yards were the third-most in a season in school history, while his 56 catches ranked fifth all-time…averaged 16.4 yards per catch and 4.7 catches per game, fifth-best total in JSU history…caught at least two passes in every game, with his best game coming against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 15, when he hauled in eight catches for 153 yards and a touchdown…the 153 yards were the 11th-most receiving yards in a game in school history…had 100 yards on six catches and three touchdowns against West Alabama on Sept. 20, tying Joey Hamilton for the second-most receiving touchdowns in a game in school history…had seven catches twice, at Michigan State on Aug. 29 and vs. Austin Peay on Nov. 1, while hauling in six catches twice…his longest reception of the year was a 59-yard touchdown pass from Eli Jenkins on JSU’s second play from scrimmage against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 15…in the UWA game, hauled in TD receptions of 32, 13 and 14 yards, two from Max Shortell and one from Christian LeMay. 

2013: Played in all 15 games for the Gamecocks as a redshirt freshman, starting 14 of them at wide receiver…stormed onto the scene as a freshman, breaking the school’s freshman records for catches (58) and receiving yards (885), both team highs…a Freshman All-American who also earned OVC All-Newcomer Team honors…his 885 receiving yards were the third-most in a season in school history, while his 58 catches tied for third in school history…had four games with more than 100 receiving yards, including a season-high 124 on eight catches at Georgia State on Sept. 21…hauled in his first career touchdown catch on Nov. 9 vs. Eastern Kentucky, a nine-yard pass from Max Shortell…also caught a touchdown pass in the FCS Second Round at McNeese State, a 19-yard toss from Eli Jenkins on JSU’s first offensive play of the game…had a season-long 49-yard catch in the EKU game…caught a season-high nine receptions at Austin Peay on Nov. 2, tying him for third-most receptions in a game in JSU’s Division I history…had at least one reception in 14 of his 15 games…had six catches for 95 yards in the Quarterfinals at No. 3 Eastern Washington on Dec. 14.
2012: Sat out the season as a redshirt. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Rayvan Teague at Carrollton High School…was a first-team all-district selection in 2009, 2010 and 2011…was an all-region performer for four years, including first-team his final three seasons…helped the Trojans post a 14-1 record his junior year, an 11-2 record and a trip to the state playoffs in his senior year…finished his second season with 27 catches for 603 yards and 13 touchdowns, while recording 37 tackles and seven interceptions on defense…had his best game of the season against Centennial, where he had four catches for 125 yards with a pair of touchdowns, while also recording an interception on defense…also lettered in basketball, where he was a second-team all-state selection…participated in track at CHS…honor student…member of the National Honor Society…member of the Spanish Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Full name is Joshua Andrew Barge…born Oct. 24, 1992, in Carrollton, Ga…is the son of Anthony and Cindy Barge…has four brothers, AJ, Samuel, Christian and Isaiah, and two sisters, Ansley and Neziah…his brother A.J. was a defensive back for the Gamecocks…his father played college basketball at West Georgia, where he was inducted into the UWG Hall of Fame in 1999, and went on to play professionally…majoring in elementary education at JSU.
