2010: Saw action in 10 of the Gamecocks’ 12 games as a junior, earning the start in three of them…was the team’s leading receiver from the tight end position with 12 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown…averaged 13.1 yards per catch…saw action in the season-opening win at Ole Miss with a 19-yard reception...hauled in an eight-yard catch against Chattanooga...posted career numbers against Georgia State with 62 yards on three receptions...caught a pair of passes for ten yards against Eastern Illinois...Grabbed one catch for 22 yards against UT Martin...caught a pair of passes for 16 yards vs. Tennessee State...caught one pass, his lone touchdown catch of the year, for 13 yards at Tennessee Tech.
2009: Appeared in nine of the Gamecocks’ 11 games as a sophomore, earning the start at tight end at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 3…caught 15 passes for 148 yards and four touchdowns, including a season-long 26-yard grab at SEMO (11/3)…hauled in his first career touchdown pass at Nicholls State on Sept. 26, a game in which he actually caught two TD passes…also scored at Murray State (10/10) and at SEMO (11/3)…totaled a career-high 42 yards on two catches against Eastern Illinois (10/24).
2008: Saw action in 10 games, making his JSU debut in the season opener against Georgia Tech…had three receptions for 22 yards with a long of 17…caught three passes for 22 yards with a long of 17 against Alabama A&M (9/6)…finished the season with 16 knockdowns and three pancake blocks.
2007: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Blaine Hathcock at W.S. Neal High School…was a four-year lettermen…helped team to a 10-3 record as a senior and the Region Championship…finished with 26 catches for 601 yards in 2006…named to the Mobile Register All-Region team.
PERSONAL: Full name is Justin Jerel Dewayne Howard…son of Shannon Howard and Jeffrey Hall…born on Jan. 3, 1989…has one brother, Jordan, and two sisters, Brieanna and Jacody-Blake…majoring in sports management.
