JSU OUTLOOK: Had a good spring and is expected to add depth to the running game.
JSU CAREER
2010: Played in 11 games as a junior, keying the Gamecock rushing attack at the fullback spot … Had one carry for eight yards Austin Peay (10/23).
2009: Saw action in all 11 games as a reserve for the Gamecocks as a sophomore…had one carry on the year, a three-yard gain at Nicholls State (9/26).
2008: Saw limited action…had his best game versus Eastern Kentucky, where he blocked a punt that led to a Gamecock touchdown.
2007: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at The Bolles School for Corkey Rogers…was a four-year letterman…earned second-team All-State honors as a senior and recording 112 tackles and 10 sacks…helped the Bulldogs to a 14-0 record and a State Championship as a senior…team posted an incredible 37-2 record over his last three years (14-0, 13-1, 10-1)…also lettered in baseball and weightlifting, where he was the state runner-up in 238 pound class as a senior…was a three-time national qualifier for USA Weightlifting in the school age championship and finished with a bronze medal his freshman year in the 15-and-under class.
PERSONAL: Full name is Matthew Cole Doolittle…son of Bill and Sandra Doolittle… born on Aug. 26, 1988…has one brother, Clayton…majoring in marketing at JSU.
