2011 OUTLOOK: Was very impressive during the spring and worked hard to improve his game…is expected to battle for a starting job this fall…will certainly see a lot of playing time this season.
JSU CAREER:
2010: Saw action in all 12 games for the Gamecocks as a junior, starting at defensive end in three of them…was named to the OVC’s All-Newcomer Team after notching 33 tackles, 18 of which were solo, one sack and six tackles for a loss…also recorded one quarterback hurry and broke up a pass…earned his first career start in the home opener vs. Chattanooga…in his JSU debut, pulled in five tackles, two for a loss, in the win at Ole Miss…had five tackles twice more, at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 25 and vs. Tennessee State on Oct. 16…had four stops vs. Austin Peay on Oct. 23…recorded his only sack at UT Martin on Oct. 9, a tackle that pinned the Skyhawks 11 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Dodge City Community College in Kansas for Bob Majeski…as a sophomore in 2009, racked up 48 tackles, 27 solo, including 6.5 sacks and 5.0 more behind the line of scrimmage…his sacks combined for a loss of 46 yards by opposing quarterbacks…as a freshman in 2008, was credited with 54 tackles, an average of 7.7 per game…played with current JSU linebacker Kevin Dix at DCCC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Deleastle Technical High for Mike Pietlock and Paul Lasorssa…was named team MVP as a junior and senior…earned second-team All-State honors in 2008 as a senior after finishing with 73 tackles and eight sacks…was a two-time first-team All-Conference player in 2007 and 2008…selected to play in the Delaware Blue-Gold All-Star game in 2008…also lettered in basketball, where he averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds per game.
