JSU CAREER
(2015): Was a solid addition to JSU after two seasons on the junior college level…a key component for the Gamecock outfield…played in 41 games and started in 37, including 36 starts in left field…batted .307 as a junior with 39 hits in 127 at bats…finished with 10 doubles, including multiple doubles twice against Air Force (3/27/15) and at UT Martin (5/14/15)…finished with 12 multiple hit games and seven multiple RBI contests…belted three home runs with two of the three coming against Ohio Valley Conference foes…collected three RBI versus Murray State (4/4/15) and finished the game with six total bases…posted triples against Tennessee Tech (4/10/15) and versus Samford (5/5/15)…reached base three times via walk against Kennesaw State (2/20/15)…finished with six putouts against Southeast Missouri (4/18/15).
JUNIOR COLLEGE: An Alabama product who spent the last two seasons at Meridian Community College in Meridian, Mississippi…played two seasons under Dillon Sudduth at MCC…was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 All Conference performer for the Eagles.
HIGH SCHOOL: Spent two years at Oak Mountain High School as a freshman and the beginning of this sophomore year before moving over to Spain Park High School for his junior and senior seasons…played three seasons at SPHS for head coach Will Smith.
PERSONAL: Full name is Paul Angel…son of Paul and Meredith Angel…born on August 15, 1993 in Birmingham, Ala. …has two older sisters, Alison (32) and Meghan (29)…his father played at Georgia State, while his uncle participated in athletics at Alabama…grandfather played at Michigan...majoring in business at JSU.
