HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Piedmont High School for Steve Smith…was a four-year letterman…was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State first-team as a linebacker…was a finalist for the ASWA Class 3A Lineman of the Year…helped the Bulldogs post back-to-back 10-3 seasons and appearances in the Class 3A state quarterfinals as a junior and senior.

PERSONAL: Full name is John Daniel Hammett…son of Dr. Johnny Hammett and Karen Kisor…born on July 3, 1990…his father, Dr. Hammett, was a four-year letterman for the Gamecocks from 1975-78, and is currently the Dean of Education and Professional Studies at Jax State…has one younger brother, Adam, and one older sister, Pamela…major is undeclared at JSU.
